NYC Transit / Subway - Wicker Seats 1926

Found in a barn in PA. I followed a tip from one of my pickers and scored 8 of these. Very good condition wicker upholstery, cushioned and on a formed steel base with mounting holes. 35 1/2" X 16 1/2" and 3" high. They were made around 1926 and were in use until the 1960's on NYC trolley, bus or subway lines. These look very lightly used and were in storage for many years. Heavy durable lacquered wicker over padding and made to withstand rush hour traffic. These are near mint. They would be perfect for restaurant banquets, benches, headboard or to top off a chest for seating.

I remember them fondly from my early days in Brooklyn as anyone of a certain age will also. My dad was a TWU bus driver in Brooklyn for 25 years and I would ride his route for fun with my mom and brother.
